ABOUT THE CLUB
High Altitude Track Club prides itself on an adherence to a phased approach training regimen, ultimate TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY, and taking community action.
Not only are our athletes some of the most technically sound, and highly trained athletes, but we take care of our town which takes care of us. We have a number of civic duties that we’ve stepped to the plate for, and will continue to do so. We love where we come from and strive to be ambassadors of the Basin in every way. With an NCAA Level of training, and consistent collegiate & 6A high school level of competition, our high schoolers move onto the next level prepared and confident. Working side-by-side with our older athletes, our younger athletes come into their age levels confident, experienced, and extremely well prepared.
We offer indoor and outdoor track and field seasons, as well as XC. We have 10 month training cycles for our track- only athletes, and we are a doorway into Jr. Olympics. Though, our focus is known to be sprints, relays and horizontal jumps, we now have extremely competent coaching in all throws and in vertical jumps, which compliment and round-out our sprints, relays and long jump coach: USATF, USTFCCCA and NFHS Certified, Head Coach Douglas Werner.
We have multi-event training and competition, as well. HATC boasts student athletes, from several different schools and we work well with the scholastic high school and middle school programs, as Coach Douglas coaches high school track. Our record within the school system and within the USATF is impeccable and there’s no denying the thread.
High Altitude Track Club is a member the USATF and USATF Oregon. We offer Youth and Masters and are a 501c3 holding non-profit organization.
